Drowning Craze

Drowning Craze was a London-based post-punk band, active from 1980 to 1982.
==History==
Drowning Craze started out as a vehicle for Angela Jaeger, a New York-born vocalist who moved to London to study voice and musical theatre. Jaeger left the band following the 1981 release of debut single "Storage Case" on Situation Two. Her replacement, Chicago-born Frankie Nardiello, joined in time to sing on the band's second single, "Trance", which made "single of the week" in British music magazines ''NME'' and ''Melody Maker''. The group did not fulfill its potential, however, disbanding after one more single, "Heat", in 1982. Drowning Craze recorded one Peel session on 1 January 1982.〔http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/johnpeel/sessions/1980s/1982/Jan02drowningcraze/〕
Bassist Simon Raymonde became a member of the Cocteau Twins before forming the Bella Union record label, and later, Snowbird. Angela Jaeger went on to sing backup with Billy MacKenzie, The Monochrome Set and Pigbag. Adopting the name Groovie Mann, Nardiello was the lead singer of Chicago-based industrial rock band Thrill Kill Kult in the late 1980s.
